From class F building of the late 70s to NZEB
The seismically and energy-renovated building no longer uses gas but only electric and thermal energy from solar sources. The project was completed in 2023 in the Municipality of Pietravairano (CE). From class F to class A4!
Original structure: class F
The original structure from 1978 is made of load-bearing masonry with tuff blocks 50 cm thick. The roof consists of a waterproof terrace with a layer of bitumen.
There is a heating system present: a gas boiler and radiators. The comfort level was poor with low winter temperatures and high summer temperatures.
The construction and installation work was carried out by Eutecna without subcontractors.
Energy class before the intervention: F.
Energy and architectural project
The project was carried out by Eng. Maurizio Landolfi. A project of both energy and architectural type was developed with 3D visualization to provide a clear view to the Client and the workers.
Insulation was provided for the walls (12 cm EPS) and terrace (14 cm XPS), a solar thermal system for supporting hot water heating, a photovoltaic system, and the boiler and radiators were replaced with a heat pump and fan coils for winter and summer air conditioning.
Final building: class A4
The final state faithfully reflects the project that was carried out by the company Eutecna of engineer Landolfi. The seismic class and the energy class have been increased from F to A4, the highest obtainable. The terrace has been transformed into a livable space to enjoy the view while being protected from the sun thanks to the photovoltaic pergola.
The building is remotely controlled, allowing the desired temperature to be set for each room.
Energy class after the intervention A4
